Trent & Jess head off to the IronMan World Champs

We have been profiling the Pilates for Sports journey of 2 young triathletes who have qualified for the 70.3 world championships in South Africa in September. They have been doing 10PFS at home, have loved the benefits and for the last 7 weeks they have decided to add in studio sessions.

On a weekly basis they document the benefits they have experienced because of Pilates for Sports - it’s an amazing journey well worth the read.

Week 1 - Trent 

I had been doing Pilates at home for a couple of weeks and decided to finish my build into worlds with the help of Noel’s and head into the studio. First up it’s the best decision you will ever make DO IT!!! You will not regret it and it will be the best decision you ever make. Biggest improvement first week was just doing the exercises properly you need that expert advice to help you make the most of the exercises and turn on those powerhouse muscles.

Amateur to Professional Triathlete with Pilates For Sports

Since beginning with the Pilates For Sports team during the winter of 2015, pilates has played a pivotal role in my development as an athlete and has been integral in my progression from decent amateur to amateur World Champion and now professional triathlete. 

Pilates is providing me with highest quality, targeted injury prevention and strengthening program allowing me to perform and function at my best, both during training and racing.  I have remained injury free, have again increased thresholds and have continued to refine all aspects of my performance with the help of PFS.  This has culminated with an Ironman personal best at Ironman Cairns in June of this year and an overall finish position of 4th.

How Pilates helped Steve Qualify For Kona

When I first started training I noticed that my core was not as strong as I had thought.  When I concentrated on my form from the Pilates training, I felt like my pedalling was more efficient and I was starting to feel stronger.

I have continually noticed improvement on the bike over the time I have been working with the PFS team and following the 10PFS program.

At Ironman Australia I realised a long held dream of qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii on the back of a very strong bike ride.
